Oh, he just did…
Loving this sleeveless jacket or vest of some sort. Very avant-garde. When asked where Jorell got this statement piece from, “Thailand, and it was dirt cheap.”
Where do you get your unique statement pieces from?
Monochrome
Spotted during Mathaf’s Tea with Nefertiti opening night.
Simplicity and edginess all in one.

Yezenia/Mexico/Model
A model and mother of two, yes you heard me right. Mother. Of. Two. You might recognise Yezenia, or Yezzi, poised from cover to cover in your nearby magazine stands.
Yezenia is now beginning to get her hands on fashion designing! Have a look at the jacket she is wearing. A structured silhouette with an ethnic print from Botswana (if my memory serves me right). The studs and chains are a great edgy twist to the entire look.
Hope to see more of your creations Yezzi!
Happy 2013! More men of Doha gets on the style bandwagon.
Hello folks! It’s been a while! I’ve missed you all! What have we learned since we last spoke? Nothing? Very well then…
Here is my first and long over due post for 2013.
Recently, I was at Landmark mall doing a wardrobe shopping run for a TV Commercial I’ve been working on, and I’ve noticed a number of well dressed young men. They were experimenting with layering pieces, colours, hats, glass frames, shoes, you name it. Shall I say they were a little more daring in their outfits? Yes, indeedy they were.
While winter sets in, local men take their coloured thobes out, with their woollen ghutras and I noticed a few beshts too. I particularly love the white thobe with a dark blazer and ivory coloured ghutra look on the Qatari men.
What am I doing explaining this to you in text? I should have photographic evidence! Trust next time I’m out and about (and less busy), I will have my camera ready!

I love the entire look, but not current-weather-friendly, is it?
If you’re wondering how to style your Spring/Summer Floral outfits a little more appropriate for Winter, it’s pretty simple. My trick is, wear it with a leather biker jacket. It’s like instant-swag.

Hijabi Style

I love clothes with drape. It can give you an effortless sophisticated look and that’s what I thought Suzanne looked like.
I wish I could take more photos of hijabis. They all have a unique sense of style. Unfortunately, many of them refuse to have their photo taken…

Neon Transition
Catherine/South Africa/Student & PR Girl for The Vanity Room
Like me, I went crazy over the summer with neons. As seasons come and go, so do fashion trends. But, we’re in Doha and who’s following it anyway?
To transition your summery neons into a wintery vibe, why not style it with neutral-coloured pieces. Coats, scarves and accessories in black, beige and grey will tone down those eye-popping colours. If you’d like to go a little adventurous, try black and white prints!
Shop the look! If you still can’t get over those neons, take a look at the selection from Shopbop!
Winter in Doha
The temperatures have dropped and the coats and jackets come out. It’s finally winter in Doha!
It really is my favourite time of the year, especially for dressing up. I love layering clothes, it gives me a different look each time I pair one with another piece.
Today I’ll post about my personal style, it’s not often that I do. I always get asked where I shop for my clothes.
Truth is, I hate shopping. That might sound silly and unbelievable considering I work within the fashion industry, but I loathe shopping. It’s tedious, I can be very picky, there’s so many options, the prices could be a pain (unless you have deep pockets), and as a fashion design graduate, I always end up saying to myself, “I can make that”.
I never have time to.
Recently, I’ve been introduced to Shopbop, an online store that has a number of brands from Alexander Wang to Thakoon. I gave it a go, and normally, I would wait about a month or so to get my package. No. It only took three days.
So here is my look! The dress is from Cheap Monday. It is now my favourite brand. I paired it with a few things bought from Doha, but you can certainly find them all in one place! Bomber jacket - Booties - Satchel Bag
